Ann Arbor Home Prices: Year End Review Residential Sales Stats

Ann Arbor Area Board and Michigan Association of REALTOR’S® has posted the Year End  2012 December Residential Sales Statistics.  Washtenaw County is doing exceptional overall.

  1. The December Average Sales Price went from $204,322. To $217,080 showing an increase of 6.24%
  2. The 2012 Number of Sales Year-to-Date was also up 8.01%.
  3. In addition, the report shows another important statistic for Sellers which is that the Year-To-Date Average December Price increased by 9.36% over last year having gone from $194,967 to $213,221.
  4. Washtenaw County reports that our Average Sales Price is one of the highest overall in the State according to Michigan Association of Realtors®.

This is very good news for home Sellers in Washtenaw County because there are less Ann Arbor homes for sale.  Sellers – this is great news and a terrific time to sell your Ann Arbor  home or condo. With inventory low, some properties are receiving multiple offers.  Be aware that there is more competition for homes,  but buyers can take advantage of the low interest rates. Midwest Region Consumer Price Index – December 2012 – Consumer Prices in the Midwest down 0.2 percent in December, but 1.8 percent higher over the year.  

FORECAST-CHART.com (see chart below)  “ Forecast-Chart.com is forecasting a rise in Michigan Home Prices  of 0.66%.”  over the near future.
