After a long day of shopping at Briarwood Mall or exploring Downtown, Ann Arbor and enjoying Michigan’s beautiful summer weather, I am sure you will want to end your day with a memorable dining experience! My favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor for Authentic Chinese Cuisine is PF Chang’s! located right outside of Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I was shocked at how many different small plates I could order! I was accustom to the traditional dining experience but PF Chang’s certainly changes up the pace! I order the Lettuce Wraps & The Ahi Tuna Appetizer and they are both one of a kind! PF Chang’s is committed to bringing something new to their guests tables. They want to create relationships with their customers and serve meals that are not forgotten. The new Ann Arbor restaurant opened in December of 2014 and has been a success ever since. PF Chang’s encourages their guests to to try new dishes and share the tasty flavors in a community dining style! The horse symbolizes the original forbidden city of china, which was built for China’s first emperor Qin shi huangdi. The horses were protection/security for the locals.
The Ann Arbor location is the seventh PF Chang’s to open in the state of Michigan – Wow are they expanding quickly! I am thrilled to see this company thrive due to their hard work; they deserve to be rewarded. PF Chang’s hours are Sunday – Thursday 11AM-10PM and Friday – Saturday 11AM-11PM. Happy Hour is between 3PM-7PM and is offered at the bar or patio at several of their locations. The restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere that invites people of all ages to come and celebrate their favorite moments with PF Chang’s! They are simply outstanding with their meal presentations. When I was there every dish that passed my eye caught my attention! Go to PF Chang’s Rewards to read about how you can become a member and receive exclusive invites, redeem special birthday gifts, & many more delicious rewards!
PF Chang’s is one of only a few other sit down restaurants in/near Briarwood Mall. The place is typically packed full of people during dinner hours (6-7PM) and without a reservation you may be waiting for a table! Fortunately, PF Chang’s is current with their systems and allows their guest access to book reservations via internet or telephone at anytime of the day. This gives folks the opportunity for last minute scheduling and easy reservation options!
Go check out all that PF Chang’s offers and take advantage of the day!

Thanksgiving dinner is one of those meals where many prefer to out to eat and thus leave all of the preparation, cooking, and cleaning to others. There are a few top choices in the Ann Arbor area for those who want to get out for their Thanksgiving meal this year.
Weber’s is perhaps the most well known place to grab Thanksgiving dinner in the Ann Arbor area. There are various options in this classy restaurant that include choices such as traditional roast turkey, prime rib, seafood or even roasted duckling. It’s all served with traditional trimmings to complete the meal.
Gandy Dancer is another Ann Arbor restaurant that is open for business on Thanksgiving. Options include traditional turkey or duck with all of the trimmings or anything else off of the varied menu that has specialties such as fish, pasta, and even vegetarian entrees.
Haab’s Restaurant is a great restaurant if you’re looking for something with a more casual feel. The Thanksgiving offering includes traditional turkey dinners, but also includes the favorites of this establishment.
Whether you want a fine dining experience such as Weber’s or something in between at Gandy Dancer or more laid back at Haab’s, you can put down that frozen turkey and find a great place to head out for Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Casey’s Tavern is a great traditional beer and hamburger style bar. Casey’s is one of the many local neighborhood taverns, sprinkled throughout Ann Arbor. Located across the street from the train station, you can find Casey’s Tavern in the historic neighborhood of Depot Street. It is the neighborhood gathering spot, especially during playoff games. Their menu is the great American cuisine of steaks, beer, fries, burgers, salads, fish, deli sandwiches, vegetables, and their “blackboard specials.” Casey’s was voted Michigan’s best neighborhood tavern because of the dining experience that it provides. I know Peter through various business transactions, from me frequenting Dexter’s Pub, and from doing real estate together. We’re good friends, so today I wanted to shine our community spotlight on Peter’s popular and successful business.
According to Peter, who has owned the pub since 1998, the significance of the pub’s name comes from the fact that he feels it belongs to the whole community of Dexter.
There’s a special little story about Dexter’s Pub that not everyone knows about: They have their own resident ghost. Peter says that the ghost occasionally floats through the restaurant and knocks things over, causing general mischief. “You just have to be there to experience it,” he says.
Beyond their supernatural mischief-maker, you also have to be there in order to experience the great American dining, meet the excellent servers, and to enjoy the ambiance.
Dexter’s Pub has a regular menu featuring burgers, fish, pizzas, salad, and pasta. The pub also has daily specials. For example, Monday’s special is all-you-can-eat chicken and cod; Tuesday’s is Italian night; Wednesday’s is a Mexican night; and on Saturdays and Sundays, kids under 12 eat for free.
“
Peter appreciates the support that the community of Dexter provides him, so his generosity is a way for him to give back.
”
Peter’s family is also a part of the business: His wife operates as his accountant, and the rest of the family comes in on weekends to help out wherever they’re needed.
He also likes to be a contributing member of the community, speaking at events, serving as a sponsor for various drives, as well as donating to certain causes. He appreciates the support that the community of Dexter provides him, so his generosity is a way for him to give back.
I like to host the Toth Team’s client parties at Dexter’s Pub, where they offer catering services and pre-ordering options via phone. It’s truly a wonderful establishment.
