Today I have Chris Monaghan with me, my insurance expert from the Monaghan Insurance Agency, and he’s going to be speaking about an important policy that you might want to consider if you have not done so already.
So, what exactly is personal umbrella insurance?
This is a policy that adds additional protection over your home, auto, and other insurance policies. Let’s say you have $500,000 in liability on your home, and you also have a $1 million liability umbrella. You would then actually have $1.5 million of protection on your property.
Considering what you have at risk, an umbrella protection plan is an inexpensive way to protect your assets. These policies are often less than $150 per year.
In order to purchase umbrella insurance you only need to speak with your current agent, as they can set up the policy pretty easily if you already have something in place.
