Many people use Zillow to help them with the buying and selling process, but there are three things you need to look out for:

  • Properties listed for sale. Any properties on these sites may have sold months ago. It is incredibly frustrating to find the perfect home, but find out later that it’s not available. Don’t let this happen to you!
  • Correct information. People are finding that details such as lot sizes, home interior size, and the number of bedrooms are often inaccurate. This will pose a challenge when you’re trying to find a house that meets your needs.
  • Home valuations. For cookie-cutter neighborhoods, Zillow may give you a starting point only. They don’t know the upgrades you’ve made or the repairs that you’ve made, let alone the neighborhood and particular school. An inaccurate Zestimate could cost you a lot of money, and it does not count as an appraisal.

Your best bet for updated and accurate real estate information is a real estate professional. They are held accountable to provide accurate information for their clients, so they are your best possible options when buying or selling real estate.
