Huron River Day Geocache

Join the Huron River Watershed Coucil and Michigan Geocachers for an adventure  to learn the rewards of this outdoor sport. The basic idea of geocaching is to set up caches outdoors and share their locations on the internet. GPS users then employ the location coordinates to find the caches. It is deceptively easy, because it is one thing to see where an item is and a totally different challenge to actually get there and then find the cache. Beginners can learn the basics of this adventurous sport. Find all three and receive a beautiful “Huron History Mystery Tour” coin for your collection or earn your first one. Bring your own GPS if you have it. If you do not have one, there will be loaners. For more information about geocaching visit www.mi-geocaching.org.

Many of the homes here are being sold quickly and we have buyers for this Burns Park neighborhood (complete article).  The Burns Park Elementary school is very well supported by parents.  See letter from Principal  Dr. Bell and read about 5th grade graduation.

Burns Park holds a place in Ann Arbor’s horticulture history as it once housed the Washtenaw County Agricutural and Horticultural Society Fairgrounds (circa 1890). Today this community is thought of as ‘quintessential Ann Arbor’ with residents biking to the University of Michigan or downtown to work, children walking to school and playing in the parks. The neighborhood is generally defined as North of Stadium, East of Packard and West of Washtenaw. It is peppered with historic Craftsman era single-family homes containing original woodwork and tall ceilings. Many homes offer three stories and detached garages and each have a unique flair. The Burns Park District is also home to the quiet neighborhood of Ives Woods which has one of the highest median household incomes in Ann Arbor.

Burns Park itself is a 15 acre Park with reviews from yelp.  The sledding hill is popular.  Th city provides more information on this and other Ann Arbor Parks. It has a small shelter with restrooms and a drinking fountain, five tennis courts with a one half practice court, a basketball court, etc.   This area is tree-canopied streets with beautiful old homes by U-M’s campus and downtown Ann Arbor,  making Burns Park one of the city’s most desirable and expensive neighborhoods. Old homes pepper with with large fraternity, sorority, cooperative houses and student apartment buildings.

This is a popular home choice location among professors who like the walkability. If you know of a Burns Park homeowner who is thinking of selling, please allow us to match our Ann Arbor Real Estate buyers with them: 734-426-6669.
