Our home is in a wonderful location, some of the things we really like about the town of Gregory include the many surrounding lakes with easy access for all season entertainment, the quiet wilderness that is accessible through the many local parks and state hiking trails, the spaciousness of the community, the easy access to the local towns such as Ann Arbor, Brighton, Chelsea, Dexter, East Lansing (well, you see the point!). The low traffic, having an ice cream and beer store within walking distance, having caring and friendly neighbors, having the freedom to have chickens and fresh eggs, the quiet nights, the star filled skies, and the tranquility of living in the “country all add to the charm of our home’s location.
Our neighborhood has a nice balance of friendly and outgoing people who like to share a glass of wine or toast a marshmallow over a campfire, but mostly like to give a hand when you need it.
We are surrounded by great restaurant choices that are close by. In Chelsea; The Common Grill, Los Tres Amigos, and Cleary’s Pub . In Brighton we love the Stillwater Grill, Wooden Spoon, and Buon Gusto. Ann Arbor is full of fantastic restaurants such as; The Earle, Gratzi, and Taste Kitchen. Grocery shopping is easy, one of our favorite places to pick-up groceries is Busch’s Fresh Food Market, where we order online, and simply pick up curbside! We also shop at Costco, VG’s, Meijer, and Kroger, all of which are just minutes away.
We were drawn to this property by beautiful surroundings, plenty of nature, yet still close to the larger cities. We like that the property is on a paved road, which keeps everything nice and clean. Having a paved road but also being backed against hundreds of acres of state forest and the Pinckney Recreational Area is quite a bonus.
People should move to this area because it is quiet, serene, convenient, and very safe. The area draws residents and visitors because of the lakes, recreational parks, campgrounds, and hiking trails.
