The Irish Hills area offers a variety of nearby dining options from Seafood specialties to lakefront pubs, cozy breakfast nooks, coffee Bistros in quaint downtown Brooklyn, and even a Harley Davidson themed “good time” place!

The full size, and somewhat upscale Country Market grocery store is seven minutes away in Brooklyn. Smaller, family stores are scattered throughout the area, with one as close as the entrance to Hayes State Park just down the hill! The big chain establishments are as close as twenty minutes away in Adrian, Jackson and Saline.

We had looked at more than twenty homes in the price range and remained largely uninspired until we entered this one. When we first walked into this house it took our breath away…The view of the beautiful Irish Hills valley beyond the backyard was only matched by the high ceilings and huge overhead loft Family Room.

Because this was a Parade of Homes house, meticulously built to showcase the Builder’s talents, it came with all of the amenities.

With the main floor Master Suite and upper level Bedrooms and Bath we found the perfect combination for cozy nights with just the two of us, or for comfortably entertaining groups of overnight guests. This is a great Party House for all seasons. The upper and lower Gas Log Fireplaces are each controlled by their own thermostat, and kept us cozy and warm during an Ice Storm power outage the first winter. The spacious basement level has spoiled us with the gym and walking area as well as the workshop and storage room that we refer to as the Wine Cellar.

We lived in the Irish Hills before, and could not wait to come back when our careers allowed. Where else can you surround yourself with lakes, wildlife, and solitude only one hour from the city?

Suburban people who have never ventured to the Irish Hills area will be amazed at the comforts, safety, friendliness, affordability, and easy commuting that life provides here!

Golfing is just beyond the backyard; we are surrounded by over fifty sparkling lakes-some within shouting distance; Michigan International Speedway is four minutes away; the Wolverines thirty minutes and the Tigers and Lions an hour distant! The Kayak rests on the Garage wall and we love our MIS Champion’s Club tickets!

The current Consumer’s Energy monthly Budget Plan (Natural gas and electric) is $245. Public Sewer and Allied Waste are about $30 each per month. Underground Comcast cable is installed in the subdivision.
