Living in the Ann Arbor metro area means that as a resident you have so many local amenities at your fingertips. The Ann Arbor area is chock full of local arts and culture as well as great restaurants, shopping and more! Ann Arbor has riches far larger than its physical size. But that said, sometimes home buyers are looking to live juts outside of the hustle and bustle in the semi-rural areas just outside of a metro area.

This is where Ypsilanti comes in. Ypsilanti is a fun city with plenty of things to do – particularly its festivals, such as: The Heritage Festival,
Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Festival, The Elvis Festival, The Orphan Car Festival, The Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival and more! Ypsilanti is a community with a rich history and is famous for being the home of Dominoes Pizza!

Rolling Meadows Estates is a small subdivision with a Ypsilanti address just off of Platt Road, just west of US-23 offering access to downtown Ann Arbor in minutes. Rolling Meadows Estates might had a Ypsilanti address but it is located on the western extremities of Ypsilanti in Pittsfield Township, which means that living here, residents benefit from low Pittsfield Township taxes.

Homes in this small neighborhood of 60 units constructed in the mid 1990’s onwards, are generally large single family homes on decent sized lots with lush landscaping benefitting from their semi-rural location. Most of the homes have upgraded features such as vaulted ceilings, brick fascias, hardwood floors, granite countertops and more!

Rolling Meadows Estates has an active homeowners association and parents send their children to acclaimed Ann Arbor Schools – Carpenter Elementary, Scarlett Middle, and Huron High School.

If you are a home shopper in Ann Arbor right now who is looking for an affordable Ann Arbor property in a semi-rural location then you should definitely consider a property in Scio Township.

Outside the City of Ann Arbor on the west is Scio Township. A picturesque area that is between Dexter and Ann Arbor. Scio Township was formed back in 1833 and over the years its real estate has become increasingly desirable with residential communities that began to flourish in the 1990′s and continues today. Scio Township contains a mix of single family residences, active agriculture, preserved natural areas, plus growing urban amenities. Scio is also known as “Scenic Scio Township” due to its outstanding natural beauty – as the area features gently rolling topography with rivers, creeks, and more.

So with this in mind, as you can guess there is plenty of choice out there when it comes to homes for sale in Scio. So, if you are looking for a small development of single family homes then Sommerset Pointe might be for you!

This collection of 13 single family homes located off of S Zeeb Road were constructed in the mid 1990s in the Cape Code style and offer affordable Scio Township living in a convenient metro Ann Arbor location.

Many homes here are decorated in a contemporary style with most offering upgraded features such as hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings, stone counter tops, skylights, hardwood floors and more. These homes are generally traditional three bedroom, two bathroom, two thousand square feet, two car garage single family homes that are designated as Condos for the county.

Living here means that you can walk to the bank, local restaurants and more.

Parents will be delighted that while enjoying lower Scio Township taxes they benefit from sending their children to popular and acclaimed Ann Arbor schools: Elementary: Haisley, Jr. High: Forsythe, High School: Skyline.

Residents of Sommerset Pointe will be delighted to know that the community benefits from a fantastic active community association. Click here to download the Master Deed here and the 1st Amendment here.

Kerrytown Concert House Presents Freddy Cole

Described as “overall, the most maturely expressive male jazz singer of his generation, if not the best alive” by the New York Times, 2011 Grammy nominee Freddy Cole brings his Quartet to Ann Arbor for two sets September 23.

Cole doesn’t apologize for sounding like his brother, Nat “King” Cole.  There are certain unmistakable similarites.  He plays and sings and performs live with guitar and upright bass, just like Nat.  Yet his voice is raspier, smokier, jazzier even.  He has emerged from the awesome shadow cast by his brother.

This concert is part of KCH’s Kerrytown Club series, a chance to enjoy great musical moments in a nightclub setting. Call early to reserve café tables in the front of the hall. A cash bar will be available.
