Independence Lake County Park is a fantastic park that provides citizens with fun and recreation for everyone. Independence Lake is Located at 3200 Jennings Road, and part of the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission.
There are hiking trails surrounding you with nature; 2 miles of paved paths for walking, biking and rollerblading and 3.5 miles of nature trails. So put on your comfortable shoes and take to the trails to explore ecosystems, wetlands, mature woodlands, prairie remnants. There is even an observation tower to climb so bring your camera for great photo opportunities. Rollerblading is permitted at the park. If you enjoy a little competition then bring your gear and play a round of Disc Golf – 18 hole Red Hawk course.
Children and adults alike enjoy getting wet – enter the Spray Zone. The Spray Zone is ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) approved and close to paved parking. Go swimming in the lake with sandy beaches. There is also boating and fishing allowed on the lake.
Independence Lake Park hours are Memorial Day – Labor Day 8 am – 9 pm and Labor Day – Memorial Day 8am – dusk. Check out the Nature Programs offered year round and enjoy groomed cross country ski trails and ice fishing.
Webster Township has some great Parks. There is the well-known Hudson Mills off Territorial Road with the Hudson Mills Golf Course on Dexter-Pinckney Road just outside Dexter.
