We love where our home is located in The Village of Grass Lake, we can walk to the parades and festivals. Grass Lake Schools are the top performing schools in Jackson County with the highest test scores. School spirit is alive in Grass Lake and the homecoming parade is a all town favorite! I grew up in Grass Lake so I was excited to pass along the experience to my own children. Grass Lake Schools are amazing.
Our neighborhood offers safe biking and walking to the lake. We have excellent neighbors and the Village of Dexter is quaint and has plenty of locally owned businesses. Some of our favorite restaurants are Ryan’s Cafe, a great breakfast place. We walk there every Saturday. Missy’s Grass Shack has the best burgers. Barney’s Diner has organic homemade food, they even make their own ketchup! We are close to the grocery store too, Frank’s grocery has a full deli, an excellent wine selection, butcher shop, and plenty of organic produce.
We were attracted to Grass Lake and our location in particular because of the central location and you will be able to walk or bike everywhere: the post office, barber shop, grocery store, lake, track, pizzeria, and cafe. There is access to several lakes and parks in Jackson County close to our home. We are only a 20 minute drive to downtown Ann Arbor. Grass Lake is a wonderful location for easy on and off I-94. There is great health care available in close by Chelsea and Jackson.
We love the Deer Museum in Grass Lake, golfing, the chain of lakes, Railroad Museum, Waterloo recreational area, Grass Lake Heritage Days, Traffic Jam’in, Christmas Parade, Homecoming Parade, Memorial Day Parade and the 4th of July Parade.
