The future is bright with the news release from Washtenaw County’s Clerk and Register of Deeds Office.  There were only 74 Sheriff’s Deeds recorded by Washtenaw County in October.

With year-to-date totals, comparing 2011 to 2012 there was a 24.6% drop in the total number of recorded sheriff’s deeds.  All signs heading in the right direction. DOWN!!  The numbers are indicating a strong finish as we head into the last 2 months of the year.  Totals have not looked this good since 2006.

The Michigan Theater Presents: Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale

It’s the eve of Christmas in northern Finland, and an ‘archeological’ dig has just unearthed the real Santa Claus. But this particular Santa isn’t the one you want coming to town. When the local children begin mysteriously disappearing, young Pietari and his father Rauno, a reindeer hunter by trade, capture the mythological being and attempt to sell Santa to the misguided leader of the multinational corporation sponsoring the dig. Santa’s elves, however, will stop at nothing to free their fearless leader from captivity. What ensues is a wildly humorous nightmare – a fantastically bizarre polemic on modern day morality. Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is a re-imagining of the most classic of all childhood fantasies, and is a darkly comic gem soon to be required perennial holiday viewing.

U of M Athletics and football featured by Sixty Minutes

$133 million dollars U of M athletic department budget is watched closely by Dave Brandon.  See video featuring athletic programs as business models that need to be sustainable.  Michigan’s athletic department sold bonds to generate excited fans.

The indoor practice facility has been renovated and is shown here in the video by Coach Hoke.  This helps recruit top athletes and generates huge fund raising.

Alabama’s athletic department profits have tripled.

Is there too much pressure on student athletes? Watch our great treasure – U of M Football via 60 minutes. I agree with Brandon, they did a fair job.  I am one of University of Michigan’s biggest fans when not selling homes in Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor and Dexter, she had no idea how popular those videos would become. Now, over 100 videos and over 80,600 views later, www.AnnArborRealEstate.tv breaks ground as a video-centric website. The new site is a convenient resource for anyone who would like an instant tour of area neighborhoods.

Neighborhood videos and video home listings are increasingly popular, thanks to mobile technology trends and consumer preferences for visual information. “There is nothing more immediate than video,” says Kathy Toth, who has been selling real estate since 1989. She adds, “Quality is everything in a video. We present neighborhoods and homes professionally, which benefits the viewer as well as the client.”

To create high-quality videos, Toth enlisted the help of a local video production firm, Mixed Media, to produce full-motion video tours of popular Ann Arbor and Dexter subdivisions. Many of the videos offer a drive through the neighborhood, providing true-to-life street tours, as well as views of local parks and home interiors.

Toth’s clients love being able to discover a neighborhood this way, “It’s convenient, saves gas and truly gives us enough of a peek into a subdivision to determine if the area warrants further consideration” states Pat Strabbing Toth’s Ann Arbor buyer client.

“The clearest trend in real estate video marketing is towards quality and away from user-generated content. Ann Arbor Real Estate Market Up

Ann Arbor prices, volume, and number of homes  sold are up in Washtenaw County real estate.  Sales continues to remain strong in October of 2012 according to the Ann Arbor Area Board of REALTORS.  Robust is the word being used to describe the fast pace of residential real estate sales in October. Real estate sales in Washtenaw County, during the month October, has continued in the same upward trend that’s been taking place throughout the year.  Want to Know What your Home is Worth? 

 

The total year-to-date residential sales dollar volume is also up 19.3%. 

The number of listings on the market is slightly less than last year, and have continued to be low all year which is leading to higher sales prices for Sellers. This is a great reason to list your home as buyers are qualified and looking to purchase.  With less properties on the market many sellers have been receiving multiple offers.

Year-to-date, the average residential sale price is $211,738, an increase of 9.8 percent over last year.

The average sale price for residential real estate in October was $216,465, an increase of 14.6 percent over October last year.

Residential real estate sales units are up as well with an increase of 25.7 percent over last year, with 264 units sold in October 2012 compared to 210 units sold in October 2011.

 The number of homes sold  Year-to-Date is up 9%.

The average List Price in October 2012 (highlighted in Yellow below) for the Washtenaw County area is up 14% over October 2011.
