There are 43 public schools in Livingston County, serving 26,615 students. This includes 13 high schools, 14 middle schools, 26 elementary schools, 12 preschools, 43 charter schools, and also 12 private schools. The diversity score is 0.13, which is lower than the Michigan average of 0.52.

Zillow shares school ratings based on a comparison of test results for all schools in the state. Brighton area schools received a rating of 9 out of 10, with Brighton High School the top rated school in the county, with a rating of 10 out of 10. The school has 2,099 students.

Eight schools rated above 95 points, with top scorers being Hartland Round Elementary School with 99.94, Hilton Road Elementary School with 99.57, and Hartland Lakes Elementary School with 99.34.
